Each year, national and international radiology organizations recognize NAIRS members for their distinguished and extraordinary achievements in radiology. Dr. Vahid Yaghmai


2014 Roscoe E. Miller Best GI Paper Award

Dr. Yaghmai's group won the Roscoe E. Miller Best GI Paper Award of the Society of Abdominal Radiology in March 2014 for their paper on  texture analysis of liver metastasis following antiangiogenic therapy.



This award is given to the top research paper in Gastrointestinal Radiology at the Society of Abdominal Radiology's annual meeting. The meeting was held in Boca Raton, FL in March 2014.

2014 NIARS Research Award

NAIRS is delighted to announce that Hossein Nejadnik, MD, PhD is the recipient of the 2014 NAIRS research award for his scientific paper entitled “Diagnosis of stem cell apoptosis in arthritic joints with MRI”.

 

Dr. Nejadnik is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, Department of Radiology. After completing his medical education and internship at University of Isfahan, Dr. Nejadnik received his PhD from the National University of Singapore in 2013. His research work at Stanford University has been acknowledged with awards from several national and international societies.

2014 RSNA Trainee Research Prize

NAIRS is pleased to announce that Hossein Nejadnik, MD, PhD, postdoctoral fellow at radiology department of Stanford University has received the Trainee Research Prize Award from RSNA 2014 for the scientific presentation entitled “Diagnosis of stem cell apoptosis in arthritic joints with MRI”.

 

The RSNA Trainee Research Prize Award is presented in recognition of an important contribution to research in radiology by a trainee in the field. This award recognizes RSNA members who have submitted the best paper for oral scientific presentation, to acknowledge fellows who play an active role in radiology research.

Laleh Daftaribesheli, MD, postdoctoral research fellow from Massachusetts General Hospital, Department of Radiology, has received RSNA 2014 Trainee Research Prize for the project entitled "Application of the Dual Energy CT Scan for Differentiation of Parathyroid Gland from Thyroid Gland Based on Enhancement Characteristics". (Coauthored by E Ahmadi, MD; O Khalilzadeh, MD; R Gupta, PhD, MD)

 

The RSNA Trainee Research Prize recognizes RSNA members who have submitted the best paper in the specific categories for oral scientific presentation to acknowledge residents and fellows who play an active role in the radiology research.

Dr. Amir Reza Honarmand


2014 Outstanding Fellow Abstract Award

Amir Reza Honarmand, MD, post-doctoral research fellow at Northwestern University, NeuroInterventional Surgery, Department of Radiology, has recieved the 2014 “Outstanding Fellow Abstract Award”  from the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS).

 

The award was given for the paper entitled “Significant Acquisition Dose Reduction Maintains Diagnostic Quality of Biplane Cerebral Digital Subtraction Angiography.”  Dr. Honarmand presented this abstract at the SNIS 11th Annual Meeting & Fellows Course in July, 2014, in Colorado.

2014 WMIC Student Travel Stipend Award

NAIRS is pleased to announce that Hossein Nejadnik, MD, PhD, postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, Department of Radiology, has received the Student Travel Stipend Award from World Molecular Imaging Conference (WMIC) 2014, Seoul, Korea for the scientific presentation entitled “Novel MR imaging approach for detection of stem cell apoptosis by using a caspase-activatable Gd-

based contrast agent”.

 

The WMIC Student Travel Stipend Award recognizes the excellence of the abstract submitted for oral scientific presentation to acknowledge students and fellows who play an important role in molecular imaging research.

2014 CMC-Stanford Joint Symposium on Molecular Imaging

Hossein Nejadnik, MD, PhD, postdoctoral fellow at radiology department of Stanford University has received the Travel Award from 2014 CMC-Stanford Joint Symposium in Seoul, Korea on September 2014 for the scientific presentation entitled “Novel MR imaging approach for detection of stem cell apoptosis by using a caspase-activatable Gd-based contrast agent”.

 

The CMC-Stanford Joint Symposium travel award recognizes the excellence of the submitted scientific paper.

2015 RSNA Honored Educator Award 

NAIRS is delighted to announce that Vahid Yaghmai, MD is the recipient of the 2015 RSNA Honored Educator Award.



Established in 2011, the RSNA Honored Educator Award recognizes RSNA members who have produced an array of RSNA educational resources in the past calendar year. This annual award is given to individuals invested in furthering the profession of radiology by delivering high-quality educational content in their field of study. Read more about it here. 

Dr. Maryam Aghighi


2015 NAIRS Research Award

NAIRS is delighted to announce that Maryam Aghighi, MD is the recipient of the 2015 NAIRS research award for her scientific paper entitled “Assessment of therapeutic response in Ewing’s sarcoma based on one-, two-, and three-dimensional tumor size measurementsI”.



Dr. Aghighi is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, Department of Radiology. After completing her medical education at Iran University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Aghighi started a research fellowship at Stanford University, Pediatric Radiology Department with interest on Novel Iron-Oxide Nanoparticles, Ferumoxytol-Enhanced MR imaging, Whole Body MR Imaging, and optimizing MRI studies for pediatric imaging, with a focus on body imaging.
